Happy 2012 to all Loyalists near and far. 

As you can see we had a great turnout for the annual New Year's kickoff at the club yesterday. You can also see that there was no snow on the ground so a true Snow Bowl was a no go. A few brave souls did, however, get on the field to play some touch to keep the tradition alive - Malcolm's memory noted that this year's event marks the 40th anniversary of the first Snow Bowl in 1972.  

The 5th Annual Chili Cook-off done in conjunction with the Snow Bowl was also a great success. We had a total of 14 entrants this year and some really great chilis from which to choose. The winners were the Twins (MacNeil) and JNB with their pulled pork based 'Meatinator'.  Pulled pork and chili, brilliant! Congrats ladies (he says through gritted teeth) and thanks to everyone who offered up an entry to feed our collective NYE hangovers.  

I would also like to take a moment to look back and thank everyone for making 2011 quite possibly the club's best year ever. Proper thing for our 50th year.  Thanks to everyone that made it such a great year - and that list is long!  I look forward to seeing what 2012 has in store and, as always, welcome your suggestions (and help ;).
