The 4th ever FredRock Fest, 3rd at the club, and first over two nights at the club, took place over the weekend and was a resounding success. The weather held off for the opening night on Friday leading to great crowds that came back despite a little rain on Saturday. The event went off without any major hitches and feedback from crowds thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. You'd almost think we were getting the hang of this concert business.

By we, of course, I include the club and our partners at BabZee's Entertainment and Molson. I would like to publicly thank Nick Zildjan and Mike Babineau for booking a first-rate lineup and putting together a team to pull a major event like this off successfully.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank a number of people at the club that helped make this possible and successful. First off, I would like to say a big thank you to Charlie Johnson (with some help from a few less heavy machinery savvy friends) who spent two full days over the New Brunswick Day long weekend moving a few tonnes of sand to prep what was to become the bar area for the concert, creating a new drainage ditch, and filling in some holes on the field. He was working so fast that this was the only shot I could get of him: Thanks Charlie!

At the event itself we had over 50 Loyalists volunteer in some capacity.  I won't name everyone individually but want to make sure to thank the U-20 crew who took care of the parking; the wide array of men and women who took care of the front end of the bar; Blake and his crew who took care of the back end of the bar; the ladies (and later Kaleb) who scanned tickets at the entrance; Tim Mac and Bobby Dymond who acted as experienced muscle to keep the clubhouse secure; the clubhouse bartenders who waited until the right time to turn the club into a party; and Malcolm, Shannon and their bean counters who counted tickets to keep track of beer sales. As you can see it was a real club effort and we should all be proud of the work we did.

This event has become a major event in the club's calendar and is a major source of revenue to allow us to do alot of the other stuff we do(ie. play rugby). At the same time, and as I've said before, it also allows us have a hell of a good time, which is a pretty major part of who we are. Some clubs have bingos; we host rock and roll shows. Again, a big thanks to all who helped out and another one for Nick and Mike and their team for their vision and hard work to make this a reality!

Stay Classy,

Si
